1stDibs to host exclusive Louis Poulsen x Home in Heven auction
[Embargo March 18] Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen’s limited collaboration with Home in Heven will be available to shop exclusively on 1stDibs, at auction from March 21.
In a one-of-a-kind artistic interpretation of Poulsen’s iconic Pale Rose Collection, the Danish lighting manufacturers have collaborated with glassblowing experts, Home in Heven, to release a line of unique lighting solutions. Inspired by the horns, tentacles, and swirls inherent to Home in Heven’s unique aesthetic, the collection brings a unique quirk to Poulsen’s classic designs. Previewed for the first time in June 2023 as part of an immersive installation at 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, the designers have partnered with 1stDibs to list the items for sale for the first time.
Louise Roe Revealed as Women’s History Month Guest Curator
In celebration of International Women’s History Month, 1stDibs has collaborated with the presenter, founder, and fashion and interiors expert Louise Roe to curate an exclusive selection of her top picks, spotlighting women-owned storefronts.
Louise’s selects include an array of items from her favorite female-owned storefronts as well as her own brand, spanning decor, tableware, art and fashion united by her love of nostalgic interiors and passion for vintage art and design. Highlights include a Venetian murano glass mirror and the Splatter Vase from Sharland England.
A sum of the profits taken from Louise’s curation will be directed towards the Female Design Council (FDC) in honor of International Women’s History Month.
2024 Jewelry Trend Report
The first of its kind, 1stDibs unveils its latest trends report focusing specifically on jewelry, forecasting emerging trends and reigning favorites across vintage, contemporary and custom accessories.
Analyzing web traffic, searches, sales and trends over time, in-house experts at 1stDibs offer insight into the latest buying patterns expected to inform jewelry trends in 2024. Gathering statistics across nearly half a mission sales in 2023, the report details the top trends, creator predictions, best-selling brand, designs and stones, and their five most spectacular sales of 2023.
Predicted trends include serpent motifs, bows, signet rings, and statement pearls, while ruby sapphire, emerald and aquamarine emerge as the most popular gemstones for the coming year.
In the last quarter of 2023, the average number of items uploaded including bows grew by +91% compared to the rest of the year, with choker necklaces seeing a similar rise in popularity seeing a +21% year-on-year sales increase from 2022.
Standouts from their top five most spectacular sales include a pair of opulent Van Cleef & Arpels sapphire and diamond earrings alongside a Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. diamond bangle.
